It is absolutely BONKERS that the Los Angeles Galaxy have not already purchased Pavón.
Of course they should buy him!
Cristian Pavón has been directly involved in 13 goals this season in 20 matches. He is by far the best player the Galaxy have at the moment. Yes he does have a hefty price tag of $20 million dollars, but he is worth every penny. Besides him being worth every penny for his talent, it would also be a great business deal considering that sometime in the future, he will most likely be playing in Europe. In that case, Los Angeles Galaxy could likely have a record breaking transfer deal in their hands and possibly double their investment if Pavon continues to be the player he is.
If the Los Angeles Galaxy to fail to purchase Pavón, it would heavily impact the team come next season. It will be almost an impossible task for the Galaxy to secure a player like him considering how this season has gone. The Galaxy sit in 10th place in the Western standings and are on the verge of missing out on the 2020 MLS Playoffs if they fail to win their next two matches. This would leave Dennis Te Kloese with some hard work to try to convince players to join the squad following such a horrendous season.
Cristian Pavón must be kept at all costs. Look, in all honesty, we do not deserve a player like Pavón, he is just to good for this team and to good for this team. BUT if he wants to be here because he loves this city, we at least have to try to keep him. Give him a sell-on clause (Win-Win for both clubs), lower other players salaries (We all know who…), figure out a way to lower his price tag (COVID impact).
